Management of sports activities in Agricultural Colleges

Author, based on a survey conducted among students and teachers of Agricultural Technical College from Soroca and in agricultural Colleges in the country, has proposed a new way of sports performance assessment, which can also be used in other educational institutions.

Introduction

With educational management, agriculture, human resources, finance, management, scientific activity in educational institutions, agrarian vision, and increased attention must be given to the management of sports activities. Due to circumstances in which the managerial activity, for which they trained graduates of the colleges of agriculture, it is clear that future agrarians specialists must be healthy and physically ready. Agricultural activity involves outdoor activity, year round, and this activity therefore differs slightly from the activity of other professions.

Results and discussion

 The author, having experience and activity in the agricultural sector, and educational activity, and demonstrated the performance and sport activity, tried to combine all these with managerial activity within the College.

With fourteen years ago in College sports activity was modest. There were just hours of physical culture course.   Sports stations were only formally, and the hours for polling (135 hours) were just a supplement for teachers of physical culture, which had only one pedagogical task.  The focus was just put on some competitions, which are realized within the College.  At the city level and district results were quite modest, competitions in the country neither spoke.

 By virtue of the functions that they perform, as stated in the post, management of sports activities in college and sports sections, are the duties of the Chief of the educational work.

Previously in this function have been people with different training: musical, artistic, and pedagogical.  By doing a sociological study in College, following investigation, it was determined that students ' preferences are those related to sports.  It was expected, and the total quotas of 99.3% students are boys between the ages of 16-20 years. In the academic year 2012-2013, after several attempts as the top nominee was appointed such a person.  Having a pedagogical and training in sports, head of educational work has no problems that would keep organizing different sports in college and monitoring polling activity sports.

Noting that funding the College was quite modest in all articles, including technical equipment and materials, the sports grounds in College leave much to be desired, the emphasis on managerial activity was put on the human factor.

The maxim "essential is participating in sports competitions" has gradually changed in "participate to win and to promote the image of the College".

At the beginning of the year, is conducting a survey among the students, what sports samples would be necessary to enable polling in College-preferences were football, basketball and general physical preparation. The Administration has taken under the patronage of his work of these sections and the results become visible.  Already, the arena district, students from the College have begun to oppose resistance to these samples and become the favorite sport, but were not those expected of administration.Often, managers of sports sections are just teachers of physical education in the College.  But these teachers during his studies at the faculty, have specialized in a certain genre of sport, the other being studied according to the curricula.  Proceeding from the above, I got some unusual decisions, nontraditional.

It has conducted a survey among teachers in College, who had some sports performance in samples and if they agree to be mentors of these sports sections.At first they found only three teachers: a teacher (engineer), played in the team that won the Cup of the country at football, at times, and later coached the team of the city; the second teacher (also engineer) has coached in College at volleyball and played even in the junior faculty and in the Institute; the third teacher (even the author of this article, engineer-mechanic, doctor-docent) being, in his youth, the district champion at several sporting events, athletics, triathlon, cross, throwing the ball and grenade, played in teams becoming champion of the district at basketball. A separate chapter is about practicing martial arts fights and, in fact, the students knowing that they asked to be introduced to the Department by the martial fights. Compared with sports results at the beginning, each year, substantially grew the results.

The Leadership of the College came up with the initiative to hold the spot between the Agricultural Colleges from the country. At first it was organized at the informal level, and on this initiative was backed by the Leadership of the Ministry of Agriculture and Food Industry of the Republic of Moldova.Thanks to the organization of this spartakiads have penetrated a heightened responsibility of the students and teachers of College. Already becoming traditional training students and teachers, and the friendly games between pupils and teachers were organized regularly, becoming a tradition. As a result, three years in a row the team of students and the teachers of Agricultural Technical College from Soroca became winners at these spartakiads.  Below we present the results of the first spartakiads.

With the advent of the financing difficulties of the Republican budget in Colleges,the spartakiad was temporarily suspended, but it has not been stopped sporting activity in College. Now the target became the spartakiad from the city and the district, some sporting events and Championship of the country (see table no.  3)

The College Administration was focused on the problem of identifying persons with outstanding performance in sports, to fit in the sports sections.

To perform an analysis of the existing situation in the educational institutions of the agrarian, the author has elaborated a questionnaire, which was proposed to all Agricultural Colleges.  The data are presented in tables 4-7.Analyzing the performance of agricultural Colleges in the country, in the past five years, it has appeared necessary to carry out an objective assessment.

 It is very difficult to assess the results obtained at sporting competitions of students in Agricultural Colleges, because they are located geographically different, with a different quota of students in each district is a different number of populations and the value obtained in the places of the district is different.At the same time we would like to emphasize, that there is a methodical that would equate the places obtained at rayon level to the national level and especially at the international level. The author noting this, decided to fill this vacuum, proposing the methods below, he introducing the Coefficient of Performance. Otherwise, these formulas can also be used in the assessment of sports activities and other educational institutions, different from those of the agrarian. Below we present these formulas, tables with data from agricultural Colleges in the past 5 years and chart summary for the last 5 years of the coefficient of performance.

100 – Coefficient which take into account, that the occupied places on the international arena, are much more valuable than national ones.

Apart from the fact that the author brings its contribution to the educational management of the institution, the management of sports activities, as the experiment has proposed the implementation of managerial experience in the activity of a specific sections.Having higher education technical, pedagogical, economic, scientific degree, the author put order to apply complex all this knowledge and experience in the work of the universal fights.

The author has experienced and at the creative chapter.  As a result he obtained the registration certificate of the objects protected by copyright, the series FO, no. 459/521 of 8. 08. 2003 and released a lyric instrumental music Cd. personal (those interested can send them by e-mail to be acquainted with).

In this activity was included and a bronze medalist in the sport World Championships master of international category, also according to the specialty being jurist, haven’t professional sports studies.  What are the results; you can analyze the table below.

The author has thought ahead, selected as experimental a lot of one student, not frequency section, has a very weak physical training (here are just 2 indicators of his training: the fixed amount 2 times, and push-ups-3 times). Working as an individual program, this student for a year has made a significant leap: the fixed amount of 25 times, push-ups – 70 times.But the most impressive results were achieved on the battlefield: silver medalist at the republican tournament at K-1, Soroca; silver medalist at the international tournament of the body – the body, Vinnytsia, Yampol, Ukraine; Prize-winner at the tournament of the universal struggle of Ribnita.  After a year of training he was included in the basic group of College.

When the author completes the article, College students have returned from Republic Championship at K-1, 27-28 October 2012, with 8 medals.

Conclusions:

1. Establishment of sports sections in the Colleges must be in line with the results of the sociological surveys of students, and not to take into account the human resources available to the institution.

2. The leadership must be provided to sports sections identified and selected, even from the outside, with merits, responsible because, at present, the educational institutions Administration use only the services of teachers of physical education in institution.

3. Sports performance can be obtained with an appropriate material, but the main, yet remains to be the human factor.

4. An important indicator in the assessment of sports performance can become the coefficient of performance.

5. The result of sociological investigations, must serve as a support for the planning of sports management in College.

Данное исследование только доказывает важность развития и поддержания спортивного сектора в университете, а так же различных спортивных секций. Работа интересна с точки зрения анализа практических данных, собранных в сельскохозяйственной зоне Молдовы. Это свидетельство и спортивной активности и научных интересов преподавателей. Автор показал, что обыкновенные данные по результатам спартакиады могут привести к научным выводам.Спортивные результаты студентов сравнили со спортивными результатами преподавалей. Полученные результаты указывают путь для серьезных размышлений.
