1. What is the sphere of your scientific interests?

It is molecular biology with all its manifestations, including UV-radiation impact on the organism and various combinations of still incurable HIV infection and other pathogenic agents of diseases, as well as the origins of life on Earth.

2. Who influenced your scientific activity the most? Who is your mentor in the field of science?

In school days - heads of numerous Pioneers Palace hobby groups, in the years of study in KHAI – N.A. Maslennikov, N.P. Artemenko, N.T. Ozhgikhin, N.V. Belan and I.M. Kanayev, during the period of work in ILTPE – B.I. Verkin, Yu.P. Blagov, L.T. Malaya, V.I. Grishchenko, T.T. Chernaya and K.P. Kashkin, and while working at the Mechnicov Institute of Microbiology and Immunology – Yu.L. Volyansky, N.V. Vasilyev and their constant guest visiting  numerous defenses and conferences - G.K. Paliy, whose lectures I was familiar with due to the abstracts written by my friend, studying at Chernovitsky Medical Institute at that time.

Every one of them has not only generously shared the outstanding knowledge in professional area and in other fields of knowledge with numerous pupils, but also own reverent attitude to science.

3. What do you consider to be your highest achievement it the field of science?

I hope that it’s still ahead. And now I want to say something about "Biostructure consisting of 9 identical subunits", entitled by me in accordance with its place and year of first public emergence (i.e. publication) "Biological structure "Odessa-London-2012"" or in the  abbreviated form - "BSOL-2012", for several reasons at once.

First of all, for everyone interested to get closer acquainted with this amazing biostructure, in my opinion explaining many riddles of a genetic code, not to confuse it with the British Standards Online or in the abbreviated form – "BSOL", after all English abbreviation of the name of this biostructure is written as "BSOL-2012".

Secondly, I hope that many can agree with me, that this is more honorable comparison for this biological structure, than "Balls Stuck On Leg", the name written by the author in a way similar to the "Internet" BSOL -"BSOL" [http://ru.urbandictionary.com/define.php? term=BSOL].

4. What events in the world of science have influenced you the most during the last decade?

It is confirmation of the fact that biological molecules can self-organize under the influence of temperature.

It’s all about the fact that the well-known equation of Klapeyron-Mendeleyev can be written down as follows:

PV = nRT

where:

P – gas pressure (for example, in the atmospheres); V – gas volume (in liters);

n - number of gas mols; T – gas temperature (in kelvins); R – gas constant (0,0821 l • atm/mol • K). However if the SI is used, then the gas constant is equal to 8,314 J/K • mol.

In connection with the fact that Mendeleyev-Klapeyrona equation, as well as Boyle-Mariotte, Gay-Lussac and Charles skilled Laws are true for quite a wide interval of pressure, volumes and temperatures. The equation given above explains quite clearly why the live biostructure is capable to change forms of the existence cyclically.

For example, Z-form of DNA being the leftward twirled double spiral can pass into the rightward twirled V-DNA form and vice versa. At the same time, and this the most widespread form of DNA is also capable to transform into the A-DNA form and vice versa, and transformation from A-RNA into Z-RNA was described considerably earlier, in 1984 [https://ru.wikipedia.org/wiki/Z-DNK].

But let's return once again to the formula given above, as it is still capable to explain a lot of things. For example, why representatives of life became capable to occupy uncountable bio-niches of the planet with the proud names given it by our ingenious predecessors: "Terra", "Gaia" and "Earth".

This formula explains the reason of life maintenance in the organism by means of the "ardent motor" - heart, creating a periodic difference of pressure in blood system, and therefore in the whole organism.

Owing to this circumstance, this cone-shaped hollow muscular organ, to which blood flows from the vein tubes and which pumps it over into the arteries adjoining heart, by right can be called the "true rhythm-maker of life in this organism".

5. What is your version of three greatest scientists ever?

They are Newton, Darwin and Mendeleyev.

6. What do you think about the role of creativity in scientific work?

If "creativity" means the flight of soul, mind and knowledge, accumulated by the scientist at the very moment of time and his/her desire to learn more for further ascent - to survey everything already made by predecessors and by himself/herself in this sphere of knowledge and to find a new way of movement to truth, then of course, it’s role is huge!

7. What measures should be undertaken in order to ensure more intensive development of the global science?

It is necessary to increase the number of interactive conferences and to improve the quality of machine translation of texts from one language to another, with their obligatory binding to area of science this text belongs to.

8. What measures should be undertaken in order to improve the level of education in your country?

To make it as much as possible and truly free beginning from the kindergarten hobby groups and up to the higher educational institutions, inclusive.

9. In what ways does the GISAP project promote your scientific creativity?

This magnificent project gives an opportunity not only to submit the work for general consideration by representatives of various schools of sciences (what is very important for each scientist), but also to personally assess the works presented at this time. And this fact, in its turn, involuntarily and considerably broadens the reviewer's outlook.

Besides, interactive participation in conference helps not only to preserve funds of the organizations participating in it (as well as personal finances of its participant), but also his/her time, allowing not to change the working order and the schedule of the long ago planned meetings drastically.
