Honors, prizes, awards: 12 awards for design, 1 literary award.

Scope of interests: design (including graphical: logotypes, corporate identities, marketing products, posters), fashion, style, image (theory and practice); signs systems in design, signs and symbols in design; semiotics. Experience of research in this area: over 12 years.

Scientific works: 138 publications (scientific and popular scientific articles about design and advertising, practical courses and tutorials), more than 20 design projects publications in catalogues of All-Russian, International and Regional Exhibitions and newspapers of MRUA (Moscow Regional Union of Artists); over 20 acts on implementation of design projects in companies.

Tatyana Makarova is the author of unique methods of trends analysis in design; the author of more than 15 training courses, including unique ones, in design and art history. She is the organizer and scientific supervisor of three International Research and Practice Conferences in Design, PR and Branding.

She is the organizer, author and teacher of additional education courses in the field of design, fashion, style and development of creative abilities; thesis writnig instructor. She carries out masterclasses and trainings on this subject, conducts master's courses in design; advices representatives of different  companies as an expert in this field.

Tatyana Makarova participated in 60 exhibitions in Russia, Germany, Latvia, Chile and Luxembourg.
